organizing those pictures!

now that we're in the 'digital' age of pictures, i'm sure there's lots of people who have LOADS of pictures on their computer. i had a friend ask me today how i organize mine & thought that i'd give you peek into how i do it. you might all be different, but here's my way.

first, for those who know me, i like things in order. 4 can't go before 5 & the letter 'E' can't go before the letter 'B', that's just how it is. i need things in order, whether it be alphabetical, numerical, etc...(just check my movies & all my folders in my computer). with that, i figured the best way to organize my pictures, would be in order. makes sense, right? so if you open up 'My Pictures' folder, my subfolders are all the years (i also have Adobe for my TIFF & PSD files, an etsy folder, & folders for my finished scrapbooking pages-but we're not talking about those).

in my year folders, i have subfolders for all the months. i also have additional folders for my P365 & any videos that i might take.

in my month's folder, i have all my pictures in it that were taken during that month. i also have subfolders to hold pictures from a certain event (ie-birthdays, park days, messes, etc). anything that i want to scrap about that has more than 1 picture usually has a folder for it to all go in. that helps me differentiate between all the pictures.

once i've scrapped about that event/folder, i usually rename it & add '+' to the folder's name (ie-'rian & daddy' becomes 'rian & daddy+'. that's my little trick to remember what i've scrapped about & helps me see what i still need to scrap. so there's how i do it! how do you do it??

National Scrapbooking Day is May 1st! there'll be TONS of events all over digi-scrap, whether it be in the stores, forums, blogs, etc....keep a look out! here's Scrap Orchard's events. SO is also having their Farmer's Market during this. it starts tomorrow & everything in the FM is $1! that means old & new items are all $1. make sure to stop by!

i'm bringing this a little late but better late than never! Lyndsay Riches has teamed up with Meghan of Wild Dandelion Designs for this beautiful collab!! 'Mommy Deerest' is a cute take on a sweet sentiment.

Tracey Howard joined forces with Heather Roselli again to create this beautiful collab. "Spring Has Sprung" has the prettiest pastels!

Liz has created another pack of background templates. "Background Templates II" really helps get the creativity flowing. my background papers always seem boring to me & these really help me out!

Oh and another announcement! SuzyQ Scraps held a QT call & i am now a part of her blogging team! i'm pretty excited :) i LOVE her designs!

friday goodies!

this past week has FLOWN by! first off, last saturday, i found out that i'm a HONEY BEE at scrap orchard! i was seriously giddy. my husband was laughing so hard over how i was reacting. scrap orchard is my favorite digi-scrapping store so this is an honor to me! i'll be a HB for at least 2 months so i'm going to enjoy it as much as possible lol with that being said, i have alot of goodies to tell you about!

first off, let me tell you about my guest CT with Sarah Bennett over at scrap matters. She had 2 fabulous collabs. The first one, "Go Green" is a collab with WM2 Designs. It's perfect for everything outdoors!

Over at scrap orchard, the orchard was filled with fresh fruit! the kits i worked with were fabulous, as always. "Free to Be" by Tracie Stroud is one of the most peaceful kits i've ever used. it's a relaxing kit full of soft, serene colors.

Julie Bullock's "Spring Fresh" is also full of beautiful, soft colors. it's perfect for any springtime pictures & also for mother's day!

Debra Anderson has a kit for all the many meals you prepare for your family. "Let's Eat" is full of fruits, veggies & meals.

Daisy Doodles

My friend, Heather, has started dabbling in designing digi-kits. She got her first 1 put together & asked me if I'd make a page with it! I was so excited & honored that she asked me to make one. lyrical challenge

GoDigitalScrapbooking has numerous challenges going on & i'm hosting 1 of them!

The Lyrical Challenge for this month is to scrap a page & part of the journaling or title (somewhere on the page) has to be the #1 song from the year you graduated! I was worried with how well it'd be taken by the members but I have loved seeing all the LOs in the gallery!
